Oh, this is fun...
Crunched some numbers, did some research and got myself a Newspapers.com sub.
Then, on a whim, I looked up Algernon.
Filed under things that make you go 'oooooooo' and 'not entirely surprised'.
I guess, if you bleed out, then, yes, that can indeed cause heart failure (what the family was told he died from.)
Didn't find anything more that day, but did some more looking today and found a second article-
Not the least bit surprised by this either, given what I know of Algernon's relationship with LaVanchia, and the fact, his own daughter knew nothing of him because her mother- his 2nd wife- never talked about him. So, good on Pauline.
